Publication Ethics
ISTIBSHAR: Journal of Islamic Education and Learning is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, research ethics, and responsible publishing practices in all stages of the publication process. The journal follows the ethical principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies the principles of honesty, transparency, fairness, accountability, confidentiality, and professionalism to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent original works and have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. Authors must avoid all forms of research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate publication. All sources of information must be properly acknowledged and cited, and authorship should only be granted to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research. Authors are also required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, funding sources, and ethical approval information for research involving human participants or animals, where applicable.
Editors are responsible for ensuring that all manuscripts are evaluated fairly, objectively, and independently based on their academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions shall not be influenced by the authors’ institutional affiliation, nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, political views, or other personal characteristics. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and ensure that unpublished information obtained during the editorial process is not used for personal or professional advantage.
Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the quality of published articles through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations that contribute to improving manuscript quality. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, declare any potential conflicts of interest, and notify the editor if they identify any ethical concerns, including plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication, or other forms of research misconduct.
The Publisher supports the independence of the editorial process and is committed to ensuring that ethical standards are consistently implemented throughout the publication workflow. In cases of suspected or confirmed publication misconduct, the journal will follow appropriate procedures in accordance with COPE guidelines, including investigation, correction, expression of concern, or article retraction when necessary.
Through the implementation of these ethical standards, ISTIBSHAR: Journal of Islamic Education and Learning strives to promote responsible scholarship, maintain public trust in academic publishing, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic education and learning through high-quality and ethically responsible research publications.
