Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to ISTIBSHAR: Journal of Islamic Education and Learning undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure objective, impartial, and independent evaluation. Each submitted manuscript is initially screened by the editorial team to assess its alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, academic quality, methodological rigor, originality, compliance with publication ethics, and similarity index before proceeding to the peer review stage.

Manuscripts that meet the initial screening criteria are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and expertise related to the manuscript topic. The reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s theoretical contribution, research methodology, data analysis, discussion quality, novelty, and contribution to the development of Islamic education and learning. Reviewers provide recommendations in the form of acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the overall contribution of the article to the journal’s scientific objectives. In cases where reviewers provide conflicting recommendations, the editor may assign an additional reviewer or conduct further editorial assessment to ensure a fair and balanced decision-making process. The journal also applies a strict policy regarding conflict of interest, confidentiality, and research integrity throughout the review process.

All peer review activities are conducted professionally and ethically in accordance with internationally recognized publication standards, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Through this rigorous review mechanism, ISTIBSHAR is committed to maintaining the quality, originality, reliability, and academic integrity of every published article.
