Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of situational leadership by the principal of SMP N 2 Pemulutan Barat Ogan Ilir. This study uses a qualitative approach. While the method used in this research is descriptive research method. The data collection technique used is observation, interview and documentation techniques. This participatory observation technique was carried out to observe the geographic location in the form of a location plan and environmental conditions, vision, mission, strategy and motto of the school as well as the condition of human resources at SMP N 2 Pemulutan Barat Ogan Ilir. Based on the results of the description that has been described that situational leadership style can affect the performance of teachers and employees. Leadership is a process. In order to lead, leaders must do something. Leadership style by peddling is leadership behavior that is very identical to that of the Principal, where with behavior that is identical to this situational leadership style, the Principal can easily influence his subordinates to align the goals to be achieved. achieved. In terms of delegating his subordinates to school duties and responsibilities, the Principal does not distinguish where he comes from and how he performs the task, but rather fully trusts the ability of the teacher council which is then evaluated from each point of work or responsibility given. .
