KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA MADRASAH DAN KIAI DI PONDOK PESANTREN HIDAYATUL MUBTADIIN JATI AGUNG LAMPUNG SELATAN: STRATEGI ADAPTIF MUTU GURU DAN EKSISTENSI DI ERA MODERN

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the leadership patterns and synergy between the madrasah principal and the kiai, as well as to identify adaptive strategies for improving teacher quality and maintaining the institutional sustainability of Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School in Jati Agung, South Lampung, in the modern era. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data are collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data trustworthiness is examined through source and technique triangulation. The study's analytical discussion indicates that the synergy between the madrasah principal and the kiai can be understood through complementary role distribution, coordination in educational management, and the alignment of educational policies with Islamic boarding school values. Adaptive strategies for developing teacher professionalism include identifying competency needs, providing professional training, conducting academic supervision, evaluating teacher performance, and utilizing educational innovations while maintaining Islamic values. Supporting and inhibiting factors in implementation need to be examined based on verified empirical evidence from the institution. This study emphasizes the importance of collaborative-adaptive leadership as a conceptual framework for integrating teacher professionalism, strengthening Islamic boarding school identity, and sustaining Islamic educational institutions amid changing societal and educational demands.
