In the era of globalization and digitalization, educational institutions face significant demands to improve service quality through Quality Assurance. However, existing literature remains fragmented and is often limited to single case studies. This study aims to identify the dominant quality assurance models, analyze their drivers and barriers, and synthesize their concrete impacts on institutional governance and graduate quality. The method employed was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol across the Google Scholar, Garuda, and ScienceDirect databases. Based on inclusion and exclusion criteria within a ten-year range (2016–2026), 5 core articles were selected from an initial pool of 85 articles for in-depth analysis. The results indicate that the most dominant quality assurance model implemented in Indonesia is the combination of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) and the External Quality Assurance System (SPME/BAN-PT Accreditation) due to government regulations, alongside the adoption of TQM and ISO 9001:2015. The primary drivers of successful implementation are strong leadership commitment and a culture of teamwork, whereas the greatest barriers include internal human resource resistance and high administrative burdens of document completion. Concretely, the implementation of quality assurance positively impacts the efficiency of institutional governance, measurability of the learning process, and the achievement of superior accreditation status. In conclusion, the effectiveness of quality assurance requires genuine organizational commitment and a transformation toward digital-based systems so that it does not merely become an administrative formality on paper.
