Abstract

Many factors affect student achievement, one of which is a factor from within the family. The results of an interview with one of the students named OQ, said that OQ was rarely accompanied in studying or checking their children's assignments, so OQ became. To collect data relevant to this study, the Questionnaire method, Documentation Method, Observation Method, Interview Method were used. Thus the method used is a quantitative method. After the data is well collected, the next step is to process or analyze the data to prove or test the hypotheses that have been formulated, while the analytical method used in this study is Percentage, Chi Square analysis method. From the available data from 73 parents of class IX students at Madina Islamic School Middle School, 72 at the tertiary level, and 1 at the high school level. And from 73 students of class IX SMP Madina Islamic School. There are 52 with high learning motivation, and 21 with low learning motivation. The results of research that has been carried out show that there is an influence between the role of parents and the learning motivation of class IX students of SMP Madina Islamic School Jakarta. Because the interpretation value is very strong. = 8.32 are less motivated in studying and often do not collect homework on time and get mediocre test scores. Both parents are busy with their work so there is no time to always accompany their child in studying.
