TRANSFORMASI ORGANISASI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM SEBAGAI STRUKTUR SOSIAL DI ERA DIGITAL

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic educational organizations as social structures in the digital era, highlighting the structural, relational, and cultural changes occurring in institutional practices. This phenomenon is important to study because digitalization not only changes the organizational work system but also influences the construction of values, authority, and social interactions within it. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation with madrasah principals, teachers, and Islamic boarding school managers selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The results of the study reveal five main themes, namely: (1) reconfiguration of organizational structures towards more flexible and network-based patterns, (2) digitalization of social relations that increases communication efficiency but reduces interpersonal closeness, (3) hybridization of organizational culture between traditional and modern values, (4) redistribution of authority based on digital competence, and (5) reactualization of Islamic values ​​in the digital space. These findings indicate that organizational transformation is a complex and dialectical social process between technology and values. Theoretically, this study enriches the study of organizational sociology in the context of Islamic education. Practically, the research findings provide implications for educational institution managers in designing values-based adaptive management strategies. Further research is recommended to broaden the scope of the study and examine the role of specific technologies in organizational transformation.
