This study aims to examine the effect of implementing a cooperative learning method Numbered Heads Together (NHT) on students’ science learning outcomes. The research employed a quantitative approach using a true experimental design with a matched group design. The population consisted of seventh-grade students in the second semester at Mts. Hidayatul Mubtadiin in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, resulting in an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through tests and documentation, and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The results revealed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05. The experimental group showed higher learning outcomes compared to the control group. These findings indicate that the implementation of the cooperative learning method combining NHT has a positive effect on students’ science learning outcomes, particularly in the topic of classification of living things. Therefore, this method is effective in promoting student engagement, collaboration, and conceptual understanding in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.
