GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA GURU DI SMAN 11 MUARO JAMBI KECAMATAN JAMBI LUAR KOTA KABUPATEN MUARO JAMBI PROVINSI JAMBI
Abstract
The style or manner of the principal in his leadership role has a very important role in improving the performance of teachers under him. This study aims to collect data on several things, namely: (1) the principal's leadership style in improving work discipline, (2) the principal's leadership style in improving teachers' work motivation, (3) the principal's leadership style in improving responsibility, and (4) the obstacles faced by the principal in improving teacher performance. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The findings of this study show that (1) principals apply instructive leadership style (telling) in improving discipline, (2) principals apply consultative leadership style (selling) in improving teachers' work motivation, (3) principals apply delegative leadership style (delegating) in improving teachers' responsibility, and (4) principals face several obstacles, such as declining teacher discipline, lack of teacher performance motivation, and low sense of teacher responsibility in learning.
