Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pedagogical competence of teachers at Al-Ikhlas Islamic Kindergarten in implementing the learning process during the 2024/2025 academic year. Pedagogical competence refers to teachers’ ability to understand learners’ characteristics, design, conduct, and evaluate learning effectively. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects were all teachers of Al-Ikhlas Islamic Kindergarten. The results indicate that teachers generally demonstrate good pedagogical competence, particularly in understanding early childhood characteristics and applying a play-based learning approach. However, some challenges remain, especially in utilizing digital learning media and developing appropriate evaluation instruments. Therefore, enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence through continuous training and mentoring is essential to improve the quality of learning at Al-Ikhlas Islamic Kindergarten.
