Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the principal’s academic supervision in improving the quality of learning at SD Negeri 4 Kotakarang, Teluk Betung Timur District, Bandar Lampung City, during the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the study include the principal, teachers, and educational staff. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the principal has implemented academic supervision systematically through planning, implementation, and follow-up activities. Supervision was carried out in the form of classroom visits, group discussions, and individual teacher coaching. The impact of academic supervision is evident in the improvement of teachers’ pedagogical competence, discipline, and the overall quality of the learning process and outcomes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the principal’s academic supervision plays an important role in improving the quality of learning at SD Negeri 4 Kotakarang.
