Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ efforts to increase students’ learning motivation in the subject of Fiqh at SDN 007 Nunukan Kalimantan Utara. The background of this research is the low interest and enthusiasm of students in studying Pendidikan Agama Islam, as indicated by their lack of participation in class, easy boredom, and learning outcomes that have not met the expected standards. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with Pendidikan Agama Islam teachers, classroom observations, and

 

 

 

documentation of students’ learning activities. The results show that teachers carry out various efforts to improve students’ motivation, including applying varied teaching methods such as group discussions, practical worship simulations, giving rewards for active students, and using simple learning media relevant to Fiqh material. Teachers also strive to establish good communication with students and provide exemplary attitudes and behavior in daily life. These efforts have proven effective in increasing students’ activeness and interest in learning. The conclusion of this research is that the success of teachers in improving students’ learning motivation is determined by creativity in choosing teaching methods, the ability to build positive emotional relationships with students, and the exemplary character shown by the teacher. The results of this study are expected to provide input for other teachers to optimize enjoyable Fiqh learning strategies that motivate students.
