Abstract

Digital transformation has become one of the key strategies to enhance the quality and competitiveness of educational institutions in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This study aims to analyze the management of digital transformation in Islamic education as an effort to realize a smart school based on Islamic values. This research employed a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach by analyzing relevant literature from the past ten years. The findings reveal that implementing digital transformation in Islamic schools focuses not only on technological aspects but also on integrating Islamic values into the school’s digital ecosystem. A participatory, collaborative management strategy involving all stakeholders proved more effective in fostering an innovation-oriented culture, overcoming resistance, and preserving the religious identity of the school. Furthermore, a conducive policy ecosystem was found to be an important external factor in the success of digital transformation. This study contributes a digital transformation management model rooted in Islamic values, which is relevant to the context of modern Islamic schools. It also enriches contemporary Islamic education discourse by emphasizing the synergy between technological innovation, managerial strategies, and the mission of dakwah in addressing the challenges of educational globalization.
