Abstract

School as an institution where education is held is a system that has devices and elements that are interrelated with each other. Internally, the school has a principal, teachers, students, curriculum, facilities and infrastructure. While externally, the school is related to other agencies both vertically and horizontally which are both aimed at achieving educational goals. The school is an educational organization that is directly related to stakeholders so that the school is more aware of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats it faces. Therefore, the existence of a leader in formulating policies and decision-making within the organization is very much needed to bring about the goals that have been set. Leadership in the general sense is a process when a leader (directs), guides (guides), influences (influences) or controls (controls) the thoughts, feelings or behavior of others. Leadership is a universal phenomenon. The definition of leadership varies, including: Churchill, said that leadership is: the ability and skill to direct, is a factor (activity).
