Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of democratic leadership on the formation of noble character in two educational institutions, namely SMK Hizbunnajah NW Banyu Urip and SMKN 1 Gerung. Education is not only aimed at educating the nation's life, but also plays an important role in shaping the character and morals of students. One of the fundamental values ​​that must be instilled in the world of education is noble character, namely noble character that reflects the values ​​of honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and mutual respect. Democratic leadership is seen as a leadership style that prioritizes deliberation, active participation, and two-way communication between leaders and students. In the context of education, the implementation of democratic policies is expected to be able to create a conducive environment for character formation, especially noble character. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey and observation methods and involves students and educators as respondents. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant influence between the democratic leadership of the principal and teachers on the formation of noble character in students in both schools. This finding emphasizes the importance of the role of leadership style in creating an educational culture that supports moral and character training for students
