This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in enhancing students’ creativity in Islamic Religious Education. The CTL model emphasizes the connection between learning materials and real-life contexts, which is expected to motivate students to think critically, creatively, and actively in the learning process. The research method used was an experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The sample consisted of two classes at the junior high school level, with one class serving as the experimental group applying the CTL model, and the other class as the control group using conventional teaching methods. Data on students’ creativity were collected through creativity tests and observations of learning activities. Based on the results of the study on the effectiveness of the CTL model in increasing students’ creativity in Islamic Religious Education, it can be concluded that the implementation of the CTL model has a significant positive impact on improving students’ creativity and academic achievement. This learning model is able to create an active, participatory, and contextual learning atmosphere, where students are not merely passive recipients of material but are directly involved in a learning process that connects religious concepts with their everyday experiences and realities. Through this approach, students become more motivated, confident, and skilled in developing creative ideas and solving problems related to the values of Islamic Religious Education. Furthermore, the use of CTL helps strengthen students’ social skills and religious attitudes, which positively affects the quality of their character and faith. Although there are several challenges during its implementation, such as limited time and varied student abilities in discussion, these obstacles can be overcome with proper management strategies so that the learning process can proceed effectively.
