This study aims to describe the work ethic of the principal of SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung in carrying out managerial, supervisory, and leadership duties to improve the quality of education. The work ethic examined includes aspects of responsibility, discipline, diligence, commitment, and integrity of the principal in fulfilling the role as an educational leader. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants consist of the principal, teachers, and education staff. Data validation is conducted through triangulation of sources and methods. The results indicate that the principal demonstrates a high work ethic reflected in active leadership in meetings, supervision, and open communication with teachers and staff. The principal shows strong commitment to improving discipline in attendance, punctuality, and the implementation of school programs. The principal’s exemplary behavior motivates teachers and students to work more responsibly and effectively. Challenges faced by the principal include limited human resources, less than optimal facilities, and resistance from some teachers towards changes. However, the principal manages to overcome these challenges through persuasive approaches and participative leadership. In conclusion, the work ethic of the principal at SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung positively contributes to achieving educational goals and improving overall school performance.
