The professional competence of Islamic education teachers plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of assessment implementation in learning at SMP Al Quran Wahdah Islamiyah, North Kolaka. This study aims to explore various aspects of the competencies required for teachers to conduct effective, needs-based assessments. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentations. The findings indicate that teachers possessing pedagogical and professional competencies in Islamic education can create more relevant and measurable assessments. Furthermore, the study identifies challenges faced by teachers in assessment implementation, issues in technology integration, and the importance of continuous training to improve teacher competencies. Thus, this study recommends enhancing teacher capacity through structured training and professional development programs.
