The implementation of academic supervision by the principal plays a highly significant role and serves as one of the key factors in realizing a quality educational institution, both in terms of the learning process and its outcomes. This study focuses on the implementation of academic supervision by the principal in an effort to enhance teachers' pedagogical competence at SMP Integral Luqman Al-Hakim Kuaro, East Kalimantan. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted using a descriptive method, starting from data collection and categorization to the interpretation of field findings. The validity of the data was tested using triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of academic supervision by the principal involves teachers in the preparation of supervision schedules. Supervision activities are conducted twice a year using a humanistic approach during implementation. Evaluation is carried out to assess the completeness of teaching materials and the quality of classroom learning processes. Furthermore, the evaluation results serve as the basis for follow-up actions, such as coaching and improving the quality of teaching materials and learning processes, as well as preparation for supervision by school inspectors.
