Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of storytelling methods through media to develop children's language skills at RA Al Mumtaazah Pedamaran, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach to investigate how the use of various media, such as puppets, picture books, and animated videos, enhances children's language abilities, particularly speaking and listening skills. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with teachers and students. The results show that storytelling through media successfully engages children, making learning more enjoyable and interactive. Children demonstrated increased vocabulary, improved sentence construction, and greater confidence in speaking. Additionally, the method contributed to children's social skills development as they actively participated in group discussions and role-play activities. However, challenges such as limited resources, time constraints, and the need for further teacher training were identified. Overall, this study concludes that storytelling through media is an effective method for language development in early childhood education and recommends continued teacher support and resource development to maximize its potential
