KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI PROFESIONAL GURU DI SMA PLUS MUHAMMADIYAH MERAUKE PROVINSI PAPUA SELATAN
Abstract
The principal plays a highly influential role within the school environment under their responsibility. As a leader, the principal is responsible for assisting teachers in developing their abilities optimally and creating a conducive school atmosphere. Additionally, the principal encourages collaboration among teachers, administrative staff, students, and parents to align their vision and actions in achieving the school's objectives effectively. This study employs a qualitative approach, a method that explores specific social situations by accurately describing reality through words based on appropriate data collection and analysis techniques in a natural setting. In addition to providing an in-depth description of the principal's leadership, this research also analyzes the approaches used and the factors influencing the structure of leadership implementation. The findings indicate that the principal's leadership at SMA Plus Muhammadiyah Merauke, South Papua Province, is considered good. In the context of improving teachers' professional competence, the principal's leadership role is quite dominant
