Abstract

In the learning process teachers play an important role in increasing student motivation. The learning process will be successful when students have motivation to learn. Therefore, teachers need to foster students' learning motivation. One of the educational efforts is the existence of schools, where teachers as educators are obliged to raise students' learning motivation, because motivation is one of the main dynamic aspects. This research aims to determine teacher creativity in an effort to increase student motivation when learning.

The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological design. The data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. Data were analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity techniques use data and method triangulation.

From the research results, the author can conclude that the results of this research are 1. a form of low learning motivation, namely a lack of student involvement during learning and a lack of student activity, 2. factors causing low student learning motivation come from the condition of the students and environmental factors, 3 Efforts that can be made by teachers to increase students' learning motivation are providing rewards, creating a comfortable learning atmosphere for students, such as varying learning methods, using interesting learning media, and providing individual and group activities.
