Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of pedagogical competence and professionalism of Al Qur'an Hadith teachers in overcoming students' learning difficulties at SMP Negeri 02 Buay Pemuka Peliung. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with Al Qur'an Hadith teachers, classroom observations, and document analysis. The results of the research show that the Al Qur'an Hadith teacher at SMP Negeri 02 Buay Pemuka Peliung has a deep understanding of the curriculum and learning methods that suit the needs of students. They use various creative and innovative learning strategies to overcome students' learning difficulties, including the use of multimedia, group discussions, and hands-on practical activities. Apart from that, these teachers also show a high level of professionalism in treating each student individually, providing the moral support and motivation needed, and working together with parents and other school staff to improve students' academic performance. These findings illustrate the importance of pedagogical competence and professionalism in improving the quality of Al Qur'an Hadith learning and overcoming students' learning difficulties in secondary schools. The practical implications of this research are the need for continued support for the development of Al Qur'an Hadith teacher competencies, as well as a greater role for schools in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices between teachers. Further research can explore other factors that influence the effectiveness of teaching Al Qur'an Hadith and strategies that can be implemented to improve student learning outcomes.
