Abstract

This research aims to develop a gender-responsive Islamic religious education curriculum model in Senior High Schools (SMA) in order to strengthen gender equality. Through a qualitative approach using in-depth interview techniques, participant observation, document analysis, and data triangulation, this research reveals the challenges in integrating gender perspectives in Islamic religious education at Integral Hidayatullah High School Batam. The findings show that the existing curriculum is not yet responsive to gender issues, and patriarchal norms are still dominant in Islamic religious teaching. Efforts are needed to develop curriculum models that take into account the needs and rights of all students, regardless of gender. Recommendations include the development of gender-sensitive learning modules or materials, inclusive and dialogical teaching approaches, as well as training and coaching for teachers. It is hoped that the implementation of a gender-responsive curriculum model can strengthen gender equality at Hidayatullah Batam Integral High School and create a more just and inclusive society.
