Abstract

The teacher performance assessment model is an important tool in supporting teacher professional development and improving the quality of education. This research describes the process of developing, implementing trials, evaluating, and revising a competency-based teacher performance assessment model. Through in-depth interviews with education experts, school administrators, and teachers, as well as using questionnaires with education stakeholders, relevant aspects of teacher competency have been identified. The developed teacher performance assessment model was then validated through focus group discussions with a team of education experts, which generated valuable feedback for further improvement and refinement. Next, the model was implemented on a trial basis in several schools, while careful monitoring was carried out on the response and results from using the model. The results of the pilot implementation and feedback from stakeholders are then evaluated to evaluate the success of the model and identify areas that need to be revised or improved. This evaluation and revision process is iterative and ongoing, with the aim of ensuring that the teacher performance assessment model developed is truly effective in increasing accountability in education. With this sustainable approach, it is hoped that the teacher performance assessment model can continue to be improved to support teacher professional development and improve the overall quality of education.
