Abstract

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has become a topic of increasing interest in the context of educational leadership. This research aims to investigate the relationship between the emotional intelligence of school principals and leadership effectiveness at Bumiwaras 1 Elementary School. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach. The instruments used are the EQ scale to measure the level of emotional intelligence of school principals and the leadership effectiveness scale to measure leadership performance. Respondents consisted of teachers and administrative staff at the school. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical techniques and regression analysis. The research results show that there is a significant positive relationship between the emotional intelligence of school principals and leadership effectiveness. These results indicate that the higher the level of emotional intelligence of the school principal, the more effective his leadership is in managing the school. These findings provide a better understanding of the importance of EQ in the context of educational leadership, as well as its practical implications in the development of effective school leadership. Recommendations are given for the development of training and self-development programs for school principals to increase their emotional intelligence, so that they can strengthen their leadership in improving the quality of education at Bumiwaras 1 State Elementary School. It is hoped that this research will make a significant contribution to the literature on educational leadership and provide a basis for further research in this area.
