Field studies conducted at SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung regarding human resource management in improving teacher competency there have provided significant results. This research aims to answer academic questions regarding the application of human resource management in improving teacher competency and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in this process. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, by checking the data using data triangulation. The results of this research indicate several things, including: The application of human resource management in improving teacher competence starts from the planning, organizing, directing and controlling stages. These steps are important to ensure that human resources in schools are managed effectively to achieve desired educational goals. Supporting factors in this process include support from student parents and teacher participation in training programs. However, inhibiting factors include a lack of discipline on the part of some teachers, which results in the implementation of human resource management being less than optimal. Apart from that, the lack of facilities and infrastructure is also an obstacle in the teaching and learning process. Thus, this study provides valuable insight into the importance of human resource management in improving teacher competency at SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung . The implications of the results of this research can help improve the effectiveness of school management and teacher performance in the future.
