Abstract

This study aims to determine the planning, implementation and evaluation of homeroom leadership in an effort to improve the quality of student learning in improving the quality of student learning at SMP Negeri 2 Rantau Panjang. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis technique. Analysis of research data obtained from the process of seeking data from observations, interviews and the field, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusions and verification. The results of this study 1) Homeroom leadership has a very important role in improving the quality of learning at SMP Negeri 2 Rantau Panjang, this can be seen from the planning function, organizing function, the leader's own practice and can be seen from the supervisory function carried out by the homeroom. 2) The implementation of homeroom leadership in an effort to improve the quality of learning at SMP Negeri 2 Rantau Panjang as the implementation of planning in the form of organizing, motivating, guiding, leading and supervising homeroom teachers has run well. 3) Evaluation of the homeroom leadership in improving the quality of learning through a review of class journals that contain the teacher's presence and the main and sub-topics in learning, student attendance is a significant part. But everything is still less than optimal so that the results seem as if they are just unimportant devices.
