Abstract

The principal's leadership role as a team leader or school manager is very important. The good or bad quality of education in a school is closely related to the leadership of the school principal in controlling all the potential that exists in a school as a function in management. The school principal as a supervisor has the function of supervising, developing, evaluating, and looking for ideas and innovations in the overall implementation of environmental education in the school he leads. Teacher discipline is a factor that determines the success of implementing educational programs in schools. Therefore, teacher discipline is a strategic element that needs to be developed, so that teachers as teaching staff have professional abilities and are able to produce educational processes that are relevant to the demands of the situation, conditions and needs of the community using graduates. The concept of discipline always refers to rules, norms or limits on behavior by instilling discipline, individuals are expected to behave in accordance with these norms. The principal's leadership in improving teacher discipline has been carried out well, the principal's actions include: through direct and comprehensive and routine coaching which is very necessary in order to improve discipline and motivate teacher enthusiasm.
