Teacher are a fundamental element in the realm of education, particularly in the context of Islamic religious education, as they play a crucial role in determining the attainment or non-attainment of objectives in Islamic religious education. In the pedagogical process, the educator assumes a multifaceted role, not only as a conveyor of information, but also as a facilitator of students' character development. It is imperative for the educator to devise a pedagogical approach that can engender a conducive and dynamic learning environment, thereby facilitating the students' effective acquisition of knowledge and attainment of the desired objectives. The contemporary Islamic education is confronted with significant obstacles as it has not culminated with the conclusion of the industrial epoch. The advent of Society 5.0 has taken us aback with its emergence, posing a formidable challenge in the realm of Islamic education. The present study aims to examine the challenges encountered by Islamic religious education teachers in the context of Society 5.0. The central issue under investigation pertains to the formulation of the problem. This study employs library research as its primary methodology. The researchers will examine data collection methods to investigate the challenges encountered by Islamic religious education teachers in adapting to the societal changes brought about by the emergence of Society 5.0. The findings of the investigation: It is imperative for instructors of Islamic religious education to possess three key competencies, namely problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and creative aptitude to effectively address the challenges brought about by the advent of Society 5.0
