PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM PEMBINAAN AKHLAK PESERTA DIDIK
Abstract
This study was conducted to reveal how the role of PAI teachers in fostering the morals of students and aims to analyze and describe the role of PAI teachers in fostering the morals of students at State Elementary SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka. This research is a qualitative research, because the approach is based on qualitative evidence. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Meanwhile, data analysis consists of three steps, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research on 180 State Elementary SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka, there is an average of 16%, students who have poor morals while 84%, students who have noble character include morals towards teachers and employees, morals towards fellow friends, morals towards the school environment, moral responsibility towards duties and compliance with school rules and regulations. This means that the majority of students have noble character. The role of PAI teachers as educators and lecturers is not optimal, due to the lack of volume of meetings between PAI teachers and students, lack of efforts by PAI teachers to monitor student progress through portfolio assessments, less intensive efforts to inculcate moral values in students, lack of mastery of material learning, do not arrange learning programs properly, do not implement learning programs optimally, do not carry out evaluations of results and learning processes optimally.
