PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM PEMBINAAN AKHLAK PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK PGRI 2 PALEMBANG
Abstract
This study was conducted to reveal how the role of PAI teachers in fostering the morals of students and aims to analyze and describe the role of PAI teachers in fostering the morals of students at State SMK PGRI 2 Palembang . This research is a qualitative research, because the approach is based on qualitative evidence. Data collection techniques used in this study were
observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Meanwhile, data analysis consists of three steps, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research on 180 State SMK PGRI 2 Palembang , there is an average of 16%, students who have poor morals while 84%, students who have noble character include morals towards teachers and employees, morals towards fellow friends, morals towards the school environment, moral responsibility towards duties and compliance with school rules and regulations. This means that the majority of students have noble character. The role of PAI teachers as educators and lecturers is not optimal, due to the lack of volume of meetings between PAI teachers and students, lack of efforts by PAI teachers to monitor student progress through portfolio assessments, less intensive efforts to inculcate moral values in students, lack of mastery of material learning, do not arrange learning programs properly, do not implement learning programs optimally, do not carry out evaluations of results and learning processes optimally. The PAI teacher's example in words, behavior, and dress is good, but the PAI teacher's example in worship and carrying out tasks or work still needs to be improved. Although the role of PAI teachers as educators, teachers and role models is less than optimal, the morals of the students at the State SMK PGRI 2 Palembang are quite good and one of the success factors of the State SMK PGRI 2 Palembang in fostering the morals of the students is the commitment of all teachers to care and always monitor the moral development of students. To improve the role of PAI teachers in fostering the morals of students at State SMK PGRI 2 Palembang which is not yet optimal, PAI teachers must increase activity, creativity and innovation in carrying out their duties, especially in realizing their role as educators, teachers and role models.
