MOTIVASI ORANG TUA TERHADAP PEMILIHAN PONDOK PESANTREN SEBAGAI SARANA PEMBINAAN MORAL ANAK

This study aims to determine parents' motivation for choosing the Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School as a means of moral development for children and to find out what factors are the opportunities and challenges of the Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School in fostering the morale of students. The type of research used in this research is field research (FieldResearch) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Methods of data collection include; observation, interviews and documentation with data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. These findings indicate that (1) the motivation of parents to prefer Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic boarding school as a means of moral development for children includes two types of motivation, namely intrinsic motivation, including: the desire of parents for their children to have a good grip on life, so that they become well-behaved children , in order to be a polite child, and be a child who is devoted to Kyai and parents. While those including extrinsic factors, parents prefer the Hidayatul Mubtadiin boarding school as a means of moral development for children, including: Charismatic from the Kyai figure, influence from the environment around the guardians of the students, the pattern of education and moral development is quite good, and boarding schools are quite affordable. . (2) The factors that become the opportunities and challenges of the Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School in fostering the morale of the students, namely the opportunity factor is apart from the students themselves who are aware of their goals from home, also the concern of fellow students who remind each other. While the challenge factor is human resources that are still not professional enough, as well as the Islamic boarding school environment which does not have a fence with the surrounding settlements.
