This study aims to explain the process of forming student personality using the exemplary method at MTs Hidayatul Mubtadiin Jati Agung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a single case study design. The research participants were class VIII students of MTs Hidayatul Mubtadiin Jati Agung who were selected based on a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis.
The results showed that the exemplary method was effective in shaping students' personalities. The process of forming a student's personality consists of three stages, namely: (1) the introduction stage, (2) the appreciation stage, and (3) the practice stage. The teacher as a role model plays an important role in the whole process of forming student personality. In addition, the school environment and parental support also influence the formation of student personality.
In conclusion, the exemplary method can be used as an alternative in shaping the personality of students at school. The process of forming students' personalities through the exemplary method consists of three stages and requires support from teachers, the school environment, and parents. This study contributes to the development of character education and opens opportunities for further research on the effectiveness of exemplary methods in shaping student personality.
