Abstract

Multicultural education is becoming an increasingly important issue in the world of education, especially in Indonesia which has very rich religious and cultural diversity. As one of the subjects taught in elementary schools, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has an important role in instilling multicultural values in students. Therefore, PAI teachers at SDN 1 Sidoharjo use several strategies to instill multicultural values in students, such as teaching an understanding of religious and cultural diversity, holding activities that respect diversity, and using learning resources that support multicultural values.

This study aims to identify the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling multicultural values in students at SDN 1 Sidoharjo. The research method used is a case study using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation.

It is important to know the effectiveness of the strategies used by PAI teachers in instilling multicultural values in students at SDN 1 Sidoharjo. The results showed that the strategy used by the PAI teacher had good effectiveness, as seen from changes in student behavior that became more inclusive and tolerant of diversity. However, the implementation of this strategy is influenced by several factors, such as the competence of PAI teachers, a supportive school environment, the availability of adequate learning resources, and the support of students' parents.

Therefore, there is a need for efforts to increase the competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in instilling multicultural values in students, creating an inclusive school environment, providing supportive learning resources, and involving students' parents in supporting multicultural values. With these efforts, it is hoped that the implementation of the PAI teacher's strategy can be more effective and can create students who are more inclusive and tolerant of diversity.
