This study aims to explore the efforts made by school principals in developing teacher professional competence to improve the quality of education at SDN 1 Pardasuka. This research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with school principals and teachers as well as observation. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results of the study show that the principal of SDN 1 Pardasuka has made several efforts in developing teacher professional competence, including training, supervision, mentoring, and developing collaborative programs. The training provided includes training in developing learning, self-development training, and information technology training. Supervision is carried out regularly to provide feedback and assist teachers in improving the quality of learning. The principal also provides mentoring to new teachers and facilitates collaboration programs between teachers.
From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the principal plays a very important role in the development of teacher professional competence. Efforts made by school principals, including training, supervision, mentoring, and developing collaborative programs, have helped teachers improve the quality of learning and the quality of education at SDN 1 Pardasuka. Therefore, it is suggested to school principals to continue to develop these efforts and carry out periodic evaluations to ensure their effectiveness.
