This study aims to identify the role of the head of madrasah in improving the professionalism of teachers in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Adijaya and the efforts made to overcome the challenges faced in the process. The research method used was qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results showed that the head of madrasah played a crucial role in improving the professionalism of teachers through efforts such as providing professional training and development, providing additional motivation, and providing constructive and positive feedback. However, in implementing these efforts, the head of madrasah faced several challenges such as limited funding and lack of teacher participation. To overcome these challenges, the head of madrasah could take various actions, such as seeking funding from sponsors, creating a flexible training schedule, and communicating clear and transparent performance assessment goals to teachers. In conclusion, the head of madrasah plays a crucial role in improving the professionalism of teachers and must continue to strive to improve the quality of learning and academic achievement of students, as well as have a positive impact on the development of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Adijaya as a quality educational institution.
