PERAN GURU PAI DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK NEGERI 1 LEMPUING JAYA DAN DI SMK BUDI UTOMO OGAN KOMERING ILIR

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the character of students at SMK Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya and SMK Budi Utomo Ogan Komering Ilir. The better the teacher's performance, the better the character building of the students, and vice versa. The data collection methods used in this research to obtain accurate, complete, and valid information and data are observation, interviews, and documentation. The analytical-descriptive technique was used to analyze the collected data, which describes all the focused aspects of this research.                         The conclusion drawn from this research is that the role of PAI teachers is crucial in shaping the character of students at SMK Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya and SMK Budi Utomo Ogan Komering Ilir. The discussed roles of PAI teachers include teaching, mentoring, instilling pluralism and tolerance, and building leadership.
