The purpose of this study was to determine the role of PI teachers in shaping the character of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang. This study uses a qualitative approach. While the method used in this research is descriptive research method. The data collection technique used is observation, interview and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the description that has been described that Islamic religious education teachers have carried out their role in shaping the character of students, most of the expected results have been achieved, both in the role of leader, teacher, educator, role model, motivator and evaluator. This can happen, because it is also supported by a good system and SOP from the school, as well as good control and cooperation from the foundation to the leaders and leaders to the teachers, so that the formation of the character of students can be easily achieved as expected. the formation of the character of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang students is by incorporating eighteen character values in all learning materials, namely: religious character values, honest character values, tolerance character values, discipline character values, hard work character values, creative character values, independent character values , democratic character values, curiosity character values, national spirit character values, love for the motherland character values, respect achievement character values, friendly/communicative character values, peace-loving character values, fond of reading character values, environmental care character values, character values social care, and the value of the character of responsibility.
