PELAKSANAAN SUPERVISI KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM
Abstract
Principal supervision activities are carried out in a planned and sustainable manner in order to improve teacher performance in learning. Even though the teacher's performance was good before the supervision was held, it was not said to be optimal. The problem in this study is to examine the implementation of supervision carried out by the principal and teacher performance in learning. The problems of this research are 1) how the implementation of principal supervision in improving teacher performance 2) what principals do in improving the performance of islamic religious education teachers and 3) what are the principal's obstacles in improving the performance of islamic religious education teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the principal's supervision in improving teacher performance. This research is a field research using observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. The data analysis technique uses analysis in improving teacher performance. The field findings in this study are: planning for the supervision of the principal is carried out in a planned, systematic and continuous manner. At this stage the principal performs the stages of determining the name of the teacher to be observed, determining the time of observation, compiling an observation grid, determining whether class observations are known to the teacher or not. This is based on an agreement between the principal and the teacher. At the observation stage, the principal's activities did not interfere with the learning process in the classroom, even the principal at the end of the lesson gave motivation to students to continue to study diligently. At the follow-up stage, the results of supervision were discussed together - mutual cooperation between teachers and principals who discuss the shortcomings of teachers in teaching with the hope that in the future teachers can improve them.
