Abstract

Conflicts among teachers are common challenges within educational institutions and can significantly affect organizational stability as well as the quality of the teaching and learning process. This study aims to analyze the role of the madrasah principal in managing teacher conflicts that impact teaching performance at SD Negeri Lebuh Dalem Kahuripan, Menggala Timur District, Tulang Bawang Regency, during the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teacher conflicts arise from differences in teaching perspectives, unequal workload distribution, miscommunication, and interpersonal tensions. The madrasah principal plays a strategic role as a mediator, communicator, supervisor, and motivator by implementing various approaches, such as open dialogue, humanistic supervision, reinforcement of professional ethics, and personal coaching. These efforts contribute to creating a more harmonious work environment and improving teachers’ teaching performance, which subsequently enhances the overall learning quality in the school. This study highlights the importance of effective conflict management as a key indicator of successful educational leadership and its role in fostering a supportive and productive educational environment.
