This study aims to determine the effect of mosque-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning on the spiritual attitude formation of students at SMPIT Darus Sunnah Sumbawa in the 2025/2026 academic year. Mosque-based learning is considered an authentic approach because it provides direct experiences in worship practice, religious habituation, and the reinforcement of spiritual values. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The sample consisted of two groups: an experimental class that received mosque-based PAI learning and a control class that received conventional classroom instruction. The research instruments included a spiritual attitude questionnaire, worship observation sheets, and student reflection journals. Data were analyzed using a t-test to determine significant differences between the two groups. The findings show that mosque-based PAI learning has a significant effect on enhancing students’ spiritual attitudes. The experimental class experienced greater improvement in indicators such as prayer discipline, love for the Qur’an, politeness, social care, and spiritual reflection. The religious atmosphere of the mosque provided stronger emotional and spiritual experiences than the classroom environment. Routine mosque activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, short sermons, and practicing mosque etiquette played an essential role in shaping students’ positive habits. This study concludes that mosque-based PAI learning is highly effective in fostering deep, sustainable, and comprehensive spiritual attitudes. The model is recommended for broader application in Islamic education because it harmoniously integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions.
