This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education teachers (PAI teachers) as moral role models in shaping the religious character of students at SD Negeri 190 Pekanbaru, Riau. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to gather data related to teacher role modeling in classroom activities and daily school interactions. The findings reveal that PAI teachers demonstrate moral exemplification through religious behavior, discipline, polite communication, and social care. These forms of role modeling significantly influence students’ internalization of Islamic values. Additionally, PAI teachers actively guide religious programs such as Qur’an recitation, congregational prayers, and daily supplications, which strengthen the school’s religious culture. The study concludes that moral role modeling by PAI teachers is an effective method for developing students’ religious character, particularly at the elementary level where imitation plays a crucial role in learning.
