Pengaruh Tingkat Pendidikan Orang Tua Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa Di Mts Al-Munawwaroh Kecamatan Telanai Pura Kota Jambi

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of parents’ educational level on students’ learning motivation at MTs Al-Munawwaroh, Telanai Pura District, Jambi City.The background of this research is based on the fact that parents’ educational level plays a crucial role in shaping children’s attitudes, drive, and enthusiasm toward learning. Parents with higher educational attainment tend to have a broader understanding of the importance of education, enabling them to provide greater support, attention, and adequate learning facilities for their children. Conversely, parents with lower educational backgrounds often face limitations in understanding their children’s learning needs and may struggle to provide sufficient motivation and guidance. The research method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational approach. The sample consists of 60 students selected randomly from the total population of MTs Al-Munawwaroh students. Data were collected through questionnaires that included questions about parents’ educational backgrounds and a learning motivation scale. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results revealed a positive and significant correlation between parents’ educational level and students’ learning motivation. This indicates that the higher the parents’ education, the greater the students’ motivation to learn. Highly educated parents tend to be more attentive to their children’s academic development, provide better learning facilities, and instill the value of education as a foundation for future success. Therefore, parents’ educational level is considered one of the key factors contributing to students’ academic achievement.
