Peranan guru PAI Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam membina akhlak peserta didik di kelas sebelas di Smks Kartini Batam tahun ajaran 2025/2026
Abstract
This research aims to describe and analyze the role of the PAI (Faith and Morality) teacher in fostering students’ moral development at SMKS Kartini Batam. The PAI teacher plays a vital role in shaping students’ religious, moral, and social character to become individuals with noble character (*akhlaqul karimah*) in accordance with Islamic teachings. In the modern educational context, the teacher’s role extends beyond teaching to becoming a guide, role model, and motivator who instills Islamic values in students’ daily lives. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAIteachers and students. The findings indicate that PAIteachers play a crucial role in moral development through three main aspects: educational roles, exemplary roles, and habituation roles. Teachers provide meaningful and contextual learning experiences, instill moral values through real-life practices, and create a religious and harmonious learning environment within the madrasah. Furthermore, the study identifies several supporting factors in students’ moral development, including a religious school environment, the active role of the principal, and cooperation between teachers and parents. However, some inhibiting factors were also found, such as the negative influence of external environments and the misuse of technology that affects students’ moral behavior. In conclusion, teachers hold a strategic and significant role in nurturing students’ moral and spiritual character, preparing them to become faithful, pious, and morally upright individuals.
