The management of the deceased is an important aspect in society, both in cultural and religious contexts. In Tahoa Village, Kolaka District, there are different approaches to handling the deceased between traditional practices and the application of Sunnah. This study aims to conduct a comparative study of these two approaches. Data were collected through interviews with local residents, direct observation, and analysis of related literature. The results show that although there are some similarities, there are fundamental differences in the methods, meanings, and implementations of corpse management between the two approaches. Traditional practices emphasize the values of local culture that are held steadfast, while the application of Sunnah prioritizes the principles derived from Islamic teachings. The relationship between the two reflects the complexity of values embraced by the community in this region.
