Abstract

This study examines the implementation of academic supervision carried out by the Head of Pondok Pesantren Tsanawiyah Raudlatul Aulia through three main aspects: planning, implementation, and follow-up supervision. The findings show that supervision planning is conducted systematically, beginning with the formulation of objectives, schedules, techniques, and supervision instruments, while also considering previous supervision results and incorporating Islamic values as moral foundations. The implementation of supervision proceeds according to schedule, although further improvements are needed to achieve optimal learning quality. The head of the Islamic boarding school employs various supervision models and considers teachers’ characteristics to ensure effective supervision. Follow-up activities include direct and indirect guidance, strengthening of supervision instruments, and preparation of action plans to enhance teachers’ professionalism. The study concludes that well-structured, well-executed, and properly-followed-up academic supervision can significantly improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in Islamic boarding schools.
