Life skills education is an essential component in developing students’ competencies to face daily life challenges independently and responsibly. At SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar, life skills education is implemented with an approach based on Islamic religious education to instill spiritual, moral, and social values in accordance with Islamic teachings. This study aims to analyze the management of the life skills education program based on Islamic education, including planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the program.
This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, school principals, and students participating in the life skills program. Data analysis was conducted descriptively, using triangulation techniques to enhance data validity. The focus of the study is on how the management of the life skills program is effectively implemented in the context of integrating Islamic values.
The results indicate that the management of the life skills education program at SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar has been carried out systematically through thorough planning, creative teaching methods, and the integration of Islamic values in every activity. The program successfully enhances students’ practical skills, fosters Islamic character, and raises awareness of responsibility and independence. These findings can serve as a strategic reference for developing life skills education based on Islamic values in other junior high schools.
