Abstract

The educational process is believed by education expert to be an effort to humanize humans. In other words, helping humans become real humans. These effort are carried out with full awareness and planning, to achieve the goals that have been set. The question than then arises is, what is the purpose of applying contextual learning in Islamic Religious Education learning using a contextual approach? What are its potentials and weaknesses? Some of these questions clearly need answers and as an answer, the author considers it important to be further researched and considered relevant for educational research, especially Islamic religious education.

Problem formulation 1). How is the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning using a contextual approach at SD Negeri 2 Sinar Semendo Talang Padang.? 2). What is the concept of evaluation of PAI learning with a contextual approach at SD Negeri 2 Sinar Semendo Talang Padang? 3). What are the potentials and weaknesses in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning using a contextual approach at SD Negeri 2 Sinar Semendo Talang Padang.?

This study uses an analytical descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. These methods and approaches were chosen because they are directly related to life, especially at Al-Anshar Tanjung Selor Elementary School. With a phenomenological approach, it is hoped that the description of the phenomena that appear in the field can be interpreted in depth in meaning and content.

Research Results 1). The implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning using a contextual approach can generally improve student learning achievement at SD Negeri 2 Sinar Semendo Talang Padang. 2). PAI teachers can convey learning objectives and motivate students to learn, present information, organize students to learn, evaluate and give awards. 3). The implementation is inseparable from the potential and weaknesses, both in terms of teachers, students, infrastructure, and the school environment, in this case the support of students' parents.
