Abstract
This research aims to determine the pedagogical competence and professionalism of Al-Qur’an Hadith teachers in overcoming students’ learning difficulties at Ponpes Tahfizhul Qur’an Ibadurrahman. Pedagogical competence and teacher professionalism play a crucial role in improving the quality of the learning process and assisting students in overcoming obstacles in understanding the subject matter. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research subjects include Al-Qur’an Hadith teachers and several students experiencing learning difficulties. The results show that teachers have applied pedagogical competence effectively by understanding students’ characteristics, designing appropriate learning strategies, and providing individual guidance and learning motivation. Furthermore, teacher professionalism is reflected in mastery of the subject matter, classroom management skills, and effective communication with students. However, some challenges remain, such as limited learning time and the lack of variation in teaching methods. Overall, the implementation of pedagogical competence and teacher professionalism significantly contributes to improving students’ interest and comprehension in Al-Qur’an Hadith subjects at Ponpes Tahfizhul Qur’an Ibadurrahman.
